| Music Ministries |
We have an extensive music program under the leadership of our Minister of Music, Mary Ann Rochenbach. The music programs help to create a meaningful worship experience at all of our services. In addition, there are special Musical gifts to the community presented periodically throughout the year. Questions? Call Peg Cunningham at Hope on Mondays or Tuesdays, or at home on other days.
Audio Visual Team
The team works under the direction of the sound consulting firm. They set up and monitor the sound system as well as tape worship services, special services and events held at HLC. Training is provided for those interested in joining this team.
Brotherhood of Harmony
A men's vocal group that provides special music for services throughout the year. Music is written in 2, 3 or 4-parts for tenor and bass. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm (except summer).
Cantata Choir
This is a group that joins the Voices of Hope just for the Christmas and Easter cantatas. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 7:00 pm for six to eight weeks at the beginning of the Voices of Hope rehearsals each Thursday.
Instrumentalists
Those who play a musical instrument and would like to share their talent on an occasional basis will be called as needs arise. This ministry is under the direction of the Music Minister.
Part-Time Organists
The organists at HLC play for services, weddings, funerals and other special events. They are also called upon to accompany the various vocal groups within the Music Ministry on an as needed basis. This ministry is under the direction of the Music Minister.
Power of Praise
Members sing at the Power of Praise Worship Services which are held three times a year on Sundays at 11:30 am. This choir rehearses the two Thursday evenings plus one Saturday morning at 10:00 am before the Power of Praise service. The Power of Praise is a service of Word and Music only.
Sonshine Praise Team
The SPT group sings at the 4pm SonShine Celebration Service on Saturdays. The music is Contemporary Christian and sung in a Worship Team format. Rehearsal is held at 2:30pm before the service.
Spirit Ringers
A chime choir at HLC similar in technique to bells. The chimes produce a beautiful tone that compliments the worship experience. Ringers play two or more chimes. The ability to read music is strongly suggested. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 3pm to 4pm (except summers).
Spirit Singers
A ladies' ensemble which provides special music for services throughout the year. Vocal selections are written in 3-parts for soprano, second soprano and alto. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 1:30pm to 2:30pm (except summers).
Voices of Hope
The Voices of Hope is the largest choir and provides music for the Sunday morning worship services. Members sing at one or more services each Sunday and at all festival services. Singers experience a variety of repertoire from classic to contemporary. Arrangements are written in 4 parts for soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Solo opportunities are also available. Rehearsal is on Thursday from 7pm to 8pm.
